Baseball Season! Makes for a busy house

Baseball season in full swing and another school year coming to an end. A senior in college, a freshman in high school and the little dude going into 5th grade. They all make me incredibly proud. Kind hearts.

I have been painting to make a living as of late... houses, inside & out. And furniture! Getting colorful!!
Here is what I hope to tackle this weekend, in between soccer games, baseball and birthday parties... Setting a Tuesday deadline! ~

Busy can be inspiring too... maybe.. :0)

Busy!! I have a few print pieces I am working on for new clients! Nice. But I really want to be sewing right now. I did however take a little fabric field trip to some new and some old shops. Shout out to Banasch Fabrics in Cincy, first visit, very cool place. And went to visit an old favorite, have not been there in years... Mathis Fabrics in Middletown. They make pillow forms on the spot! Found some vintage pieces and some auto carpet, yes I will be making a bag with auto carpet, strangely enough it is quite perfect for a bag.

Design things to show and share soon. In the days to come mickey has science fair, there will be several basketball games, orthodontist, optometrist and I think baseball season in trying to start... well, it was 60 degrees today. Frightening, nice... but frightening.

Inspired by

A field trip with my daughter's 8th grade science/math club to Miami University. Beautiful campus, yes... knew that already and even in the "drab" of January in Ohio, the campus is still beautiful. The focus of the trip was to experience a bit of science and engineering in college, my favorite bit was visiting their fantastic zoology museum "The Hefner Zoology Museum and Natural History" where it is apparent that the arts are heavily involved in the process of making such an incredible learning environment for folks of all ages. There are models created of ecosystems and the models of the animals which reside in those ecosystems showing the collaborative efforts of artists and environmental scientists. Very cool. Art work from local high schools featured throughout the zoology museum.  www.environmentaleducationohio.org

I was unable to take photos... but this I had to capture.

~ Birthday ~

And a lovely day it has been...
Cold, really cold... but celebrated!! A card by my sam,
and a cake by my fam.
To wrap up the day we built a motor out of a battery, 2 paperclips, some wire, a magnet, a straw and some styrofoam. Came in a kit that we have had for some time and for whatever reason Sam pulled it out tonight after dinner. It worked! Inventions: sciencewiz.com
happy day. happy, happy day.

Doing the Birthday Dance

Tomorrow is my birthday!
What a fine way to start my 42nd year on earth… with a blog! Sharing my creations and how they come about, documenting some of my family hilariousness and getting my shop up and running. Here's to 40 years and looking forward to the next 40!
